Carrabelle Florida: 12-13-23
The fishing has been great in the Gulf Coast near Carrabelle Florida. Each day a few more bull redfish show up and as the water temperature continues to drop more will move into the area.
The inshore bite has been good for redfish, snappers, sea bass, and groupers. Most fish are biting a livebait rig with shrimp or pinfish. Jigs paired with Gulp! plastics have also been working great.
Look for structure. Ship wrecks, oyster bars, bridges, and navigation poles are all holding fish.
Sea trout are getting tougher to find because of the cooling water, but a few can still be caught in very shallow water and in areas that have a dark bottom.
Anglers can expect to catch sea bass, grunts, triggerfish, and a variety of other species near shore in depths between thirty and sixty-five feet of water. Livebait rigs and cut squid and shrimp have been working great.
The off-shore bite has been really good as well. Look for any type of structure you can find. Ship wrecks, man-made reefs, and natural reefs are all holding fish. We’ve caught a nice mix of snappers, cobia, amberjacks and groupers.
Live shrimp, squid and other cut baits are working great for all those species. There is also opportunities for a variety of other species. You really never know what you are going to catch next, especially when fishing with live bait rigs near the bottom.
As the water temps continue to cool the fishing is only going to get better for big bull redfish in the Carrabelle Florida area. Plan a trip and enjoy some of the great fishing the Gulf has to offer.
