Minnesota guide Dustin Monson of Hawg Hunterz Guide Service gives his latest Buzz Bite Report for Mille Lacs Lake on August 10th, 2022.

Mille Lacs Lake Buzz Bite Report 8-10-2022

The fish have been biting well on Mille Lacs Lake.

Anglers can expect to find walleyes on the hard-to-soft bottom transition areas in 24 to 30 feet of water. You can also find some schools of fish along the edges of the mud flats.

Slip bobbers with leeches seem to be the best presentation, but you can catch them pulling spinners or rigging as well.

Overall, the smallmouth bass bite has been good on the rock reefs in eight to sixteen feet of water, but a few bass are being caught as deep as twenty-two feet. Look for big rocks and pockets of sand in those rocky locations. That seems to be the area that is holding the most fish.

Ned rigs, tubes, drop shots, and spinners have all been working for the smallmouth.

As long as we don’t have any major weather changes this bite should stay consistent through the month of August.

Good luck to all the anglers out on Mille Lacs Lake, have fun and happy Hawg hunting!
