Minnesota guide Dustin Monson of Hawg Hunterz Guide Service gives his latest Buzz Bite Report for the Brainerd Lakes Area on August 15th, 2022.

Brainerd Lakes Area Buzz Bite Report 8-15-2022

Walleyes continue to frequent the weeds on sandy flats in ten to fifteen feet of water. Slip bobbers continue to produce fish, but you can also catch some on pulling spinners or crankbaits.

On the main lake structure walleyes can be found during the day in depths between 24 to 30 feet of water. During low light periods target depths between 18 to 24 feet of water. Rock piles/ reefs, main lakes points, and saddle systems all seem to be holding fish.

Lindy Rigs, a jig & minnow, or slip. bobbers will all catch fish.

Look for panfish along the weedlines in 6 to 15 feet of water. Small 1/16 oz or 1/32 oz jigs paired with small plastics like the Mister Twister Sassy Stingum have been working great for crappies and bluegills.

Northern Pike and bass can be found along the same weed lines as the bluegills and crappies. Deep diving crankbaits, spinners, and jigs and swimbaits will catch them.

On the Brainerd Lakes Area mine pits, rainbow trout are active and can be caught trolling deep durning the day in 20 to 40 feet of water. During low light periods the trout can be caught on slip bobbers in 10 to 15 feet of water on slip bobbers and crawlers.

Have fun, stay safe, and happy hawg hunting!
