Duluth and Superior Area Buzz Bite Report 8-24-2022

We’ve got a number of different bites happening in the Duluth and Superior area.

On the St. Louis River walleyes can be caught a number of different ways, but our most productive presentation has been to pull bottom bouncers with spinners/ crawler harnesses.

If you find a good number of fish schooled up, cast jigs paired with plastics into the school. Not only will you catch walleyes, but you’ll also catch northern pike and bass.

On our inland lakes, both in Minnesota and Wisconsin, we’ve been catching a bunch of nice panfish on simple live bait rigs. All you need is a split shot and a size 6 or 8 hook. Both bluegills and crappies are feeding well along the weed lines.

On Lake Superior anglers are catching trout and salmon on spoons and down riggers along the North shore.

On the South shore there is a solid walleye bite happening right now on stickbaits. Look for the muddier water and troll along the mud line.

Good luck to all the anglers fishing the Duluth and Superior area!
