We’ve got another current, up-to-date fishing report from the Duluth/Superior area, including the St. Louis River, inland lakes, and Lake Superior courtesy of Captain Jarrid Houston:
“What’s going on ladies and gentlemen! Jarrid Houston here with your fresh AnglingBuzz report from the Duluth/Superior area.
“I want to first get into our trolling bite which has been consistently happening since open water started. I’d like to share a quick bottom bouncer tip with you. Take your new bottom bouncer out of the package, and what I like to do is bend upward the wire that’s attached to your leader line. Get it a little bit more vertical so your bait runs a little bit higher off the ground. This puts the bait just above the walleyes nose as you’re cruising by.
“We’re catching a lot of walleyes doing this. We’re getting bonus catfish, pike, perch – everything is biting. The St. Louis River is mostly a dominant walleye bite of course.
“Things are going great on the inland lakes, as well. We have the panfish coming off their spawning cycle right now, so we’re getting them just outside the weed edges right now, simply pitching shallow bobbers, worms and livebait. The largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and northern pike bite has been consistent, fan casting lures on the shallow perimeter shorelines of lake.
“Let’s not forget about Lake Superior. We have walleyes trickling in now, the water’s warming up. Trout and salmon bite has been going, too. That’s the fresh report from the Duluth/Superior area. I hope everyone’s having a great year. Rock and roll, tight lines!”
That’s the latest fishing action that you can expect right now in the Duluth/Superior area. Special thank to Captain Jarrid Houston on the fresh, new report. Hopefully, it helps you put a few more fish in the boat this week!
