Brainerd Lakes Area Buzz Bite Report 8-2-2022

Brainerd Lakes Area fish are hungry! With recent temperature increases, the bite has continued to be good.

Walleyes continue to frequent weeds on sandy flats. Look for pockets in the weeds. They can also be found along the steep weed lines and on main lake structure like humps and points.

Slip bobbers with a leech or crawler continue to produce most of our fish. Rigging nightcrawlers or using jigging raps will also produce some fish.

Focus on depths between 26 to 30 feet of water on the main lake structure during high sun/ mid day periods.  During low light conditions, walleyes can be found in 18 to 25 feet of water.

You can still catch some fish after dark trolling along the sand flats in six to twelve feet of water.

Panfish can be found along the weed lines in six to ten feet of water. Small jigs with plastics or live bait will catch a bunch of fish.

During the evening hours, crappies can be caught on a slip bobbers in and along the cabbage weed beds with a crappie minnow.

Good luck to all the anglers out fishing the BLA area this week and weekend!
