Devils Lake Buzz Bite Report 5-23-2022

Right now we’ve got really high, muddy water on Devil’s lake. With that being said the fishing has been pretty decent for walleyes. Right now is a great time to walleye fish from shore on Devils Lake.

A majority of the walleyes are being caught from shore.  Look for walleyes to be near current areas and bottle neck areas like bridges and culverts.

Walleyes can also be found along the riprap and rocky shorelines. Anglers can expect to catch a good number of fish, with some big ones mixed in.

A 1/4 or 3/8th ounce jig with a 3-4 inch plastic is the ticket right now. Slow retrieves with your bait close to the bottom will trigger a lot of strikes.

Due to the muddy water, bright colors have been working best.

As the water clears up and continues to warm up the fishing is only going to get better!

Good luck to all the anglers out fishing on Devils and across North Dakota!
