Minnesota fishing guide Dustin Monson of Hawg Hunterz Guide Service gives his latest Buzz Bite report for the Brainerd Lakes Area on May 26th, 2022.
Brainerd Lakes Area Buzz Bite Report 5-26-2022
The fishing has been good, and the walleyes have started to switch to more “summer like” patterns. Walleyes can be caught on slip bobbers with a leech, jig & minnows, or rigging.
Focus on depths between 15 to 25 feet of water during the day.
During those low light periods early in the morning and late in the evening move up shallower and focus on depths between 8 to 18 feet of water.
There is also a good night bite happening right now for walleyes. Long line trolling shallow running crankbaits in 4 to 8 feet of water will entice walleyes of all size.
Northern Pike have been active and can be caught around the developing weeds in 6 to 15 feet of water. Jigs & plastics and crankbaits are going to produce good numbers of fish.
The panfish are still up shallow and can be caught on small jigs under a float. Look for wood, emerging lily pads, and cattails in the back of shallow water bays.
