Leech Lake Buzz Bite Report 6-9-2022
The bite is still good and the fish are biting up here in the North Country. We are still catching good numbers of walleyes out on Leech Lake, but we’ve had to slow down our presentations in order to catch them.
It went from snap jigging and pulling baits fast to dragging leeches, crawlers or dragging a jig & minnow. If you find a pod of fish, slip bobbers with leeches have been working as well.
Slowing down your presentation has been key in order to trigger these fish into biting.
Anglers are catching a few muskies over the deeper bays near schools of baitfish. Casting rubber baits or blades will work. Trolling crankbaits has been another good option as well.
The smallmouth bass have moved up into the shallows and onto the beds.
Crappies can be found up on their beds in the pencil reeds. Small jigs under a float have been working well.
Good luck to all the anglers out fishing!
