Lake Vermilion Buzz Bite Report 5-23-2022

The water temperature on Lake Vermilion is still fairly cool. Most places on the lake are in the upper forties to low fifties.

A decent number of walleyes can be caught in shallow water areas with current. Look for bottlenecks, narrows, and wind blow points.

Anglers can expect to catch fish on a number of different tactics. Jigs & minnows, Lindy Rigs, slip bobbers and crankbaits are all working and producing fish.

In the next week or so as the water temps continue rise, the smallmouth bass bite should really be good. That will be something to keep in mind. Jerkbaits, ned rigs and tubes will be great once a majority of those bass push up shallow.

The water is really high right now on so use caution when cruising around the lake!

Good luck and be safe to all the anglers out fishing on Lake Vermilion!
