Minnesota fishing guide Dustin Monson of Hawg Hunterz Guide Service gives his latest Buzz Bite report for the Brainerd Lakes Area on March 3rd, 2022.

Brainerd Lakes Area Buzz Bite Report 3-3-22

With the closure of the walleye season we have shifted all of our attention over to panfish for the remainder of the ice fishing season.

We have been finding schools of crappies and bluegills roaming the basins during the day.

During low light periods we have found fish in the basins, but we have also started to see some good-sized schools of fish showing up along the weed line breaks.

The best depths have been between eighteen and twenty-eight feet of water.

Small tungsten jigs paired with plastics or live bait have been working well. A jig with a small crappie minnow has also been a consistent producer.

If you guys are looking to get out fishing in the Brainerd Lakes Area or on Mille Lacs Lake you can book a trip through my website or you can give me a call. I am still guiding panfish for the remainder of the ice season and scheduling open water trips now!

Good luck out on the ice and be safe!
