Devils Lake, ND and Lake Winnipeg Buzz Bite Report 3-31-22

We’ve still got a lot of ice left out on Devils Lake. I’m guess we still have around twenty-five to thirty inches of ice in most areas.

Some of our shorelines are beginning to get a little sketchy, but overall it’s been relatively easy getting onto the ice. Snowmobiles and 4wheelers are being used for travel as of yesterday.

The bite has been good for both perch and walleye.

We have been finding a lot of walleyes shallow. Most of our fish have come in less than six feet of water.

Spoons, Clam Tikka minnows and set lines will all produce fish.

We’ve been finding the perch deep. Most have been in depths between thirty-five and forty feet. They have started to school up pretty good, so if your able to locate them you can really get on a good bite.

Small spoons have been the ticket.

We were up on Lake Winnipeg last week and the bite was good. We caught some really nice fish in less than ten feet of water and they still have plenty of ice up there.

Good luck to all the anglers fishing hitting last ice!
