Leech Lake Buzz Bite Report 4-5-2022
There is still plenty of ice on Leech Lake and the fishing has been really good over the past week. Anglers can expect to catch good numbers of panfish in the shallow bays on Leech in four to six feet of water.
Crappies, bluegills, and perch can all be found in similar areas.
Small 1/16oz Pinhead Jigging Mino spoons were producing a majority of the larger crappies and perch.
Small tungsten jigs like the Northland punch jig or the VMC Tungsten fly jig worked best for the larger bluegills. Most of the time we tipped our jigs with wax worms, but plastics worked as well.
As the shorelines continue to deteriorate you’ll want to use caution when heading out onto the ice.
Be safe and good luck to the anglers headed out onto Leech lake to hit last ice!
