Southern Saskatchewan Buzz Bite Report 12-18-21

Most of our lakes in Southern Saskatchewan have safe ice, with the exception of Diefenbaker.

You can find lakes with five to twelve inches of ice, but you still have to use extreme caution because no ice is 100% safe. When traveling out watch for cracks and ice heaves as those are beginning to appear.

With very little snow on our lakes, it has made foot travel easy.

Overall, the early ice walleye bite has been fantastic. We are catching lots of fish and the size of those fish has been really good.

We have been catching a good number of walleyes that are 25 inches or bigger.

Spoons tipped with minnow heads have been our best baits.

The bite should continue to be strong for the next few weeks, so get up here to Saskatchewan and enjoy the awesome fishing opportunities that are available.
