Southern Saskatchewan Buzz Bite Report 1-5-2022

It is brutally cold over here in Saskatchewan, but the fish are still biting.

Overall the ice conditions have really improved over that past week. Most lakes have ice thickness anywhere from ten to fifteen inches. We did receive about a foot of snow and that has made foot travel very difficult. Snowmobiles or track machines are the go to for transportation. Some guys are beginning to get out and plow some roads which should make traveling a bit easier.

The walleye bite has slowed down a bit but we are still catching good numbers of fish.

We have been finding fish on your classic main-lake walleye structure. Sunken reefs, main lake points and along some shoreline breaks.

Spoons tipped with minnow heads and Rapala Jigging Raps are both working well.

You can expect to catch a few burbot in the same spotsa during the low light conditions.

Be safe and good luck to all the anglers out there on the ice!

Good luck out there fishing!
