Southern Saskatchewan Buzz Bite Report 1-13-22

Throughout the first week of January we had brutally cold temperatures across Southern Saskatchewan and really throughout the whole province. Over the past week it has warmed up a bit, but overall the temperature has still been cold.

Even with the frigid temps we are still catch walleyes.

Setting up in a house and waiting for the fish to come to you have been the best tactic, and really the only tactic because of the temps.  Anglers are still catching a lots of eaters and the occasional big fish during the primetime hours.

You can also expect to catch perch, pike, and ciscos throughout the day. During the evening hours you can also expect to run into a few burbot.

Spoons tipped with minnow heads seem to work for just about everything under the ice right now.

Good luck to those anglers out fishing and if you’re not here, make sure to plan a trip to Saskatchewan and enjoy the awesome fishing opportunities that are available.
