Saskatchewan Buzz Bite Report 1-10-2022

We’ve had a tough stretch of weather over here in Southern Saskatchewan. We’ve got a decent amount of snow and have had some really cold temperatures the past week.

Due to those cold temps we have been making lots of ice.

I was out on Mission lake and found plenty of ice. We had about nine inches of hardback snow on top and I was able to drive my truck across with ease.

The fish has slowed down a bit, but you can still catch those bigger walleyes in those primetime hours in the early morning and late in the afternoon.

Throughout the day you can expect to catch perch, with some nice eater walleyes and ciscos mixed in.

The bite should continue like this for the foreseeable future. Spoons tipped with minnow heads have been the best bait.

Good luck to all the anglers out in Southern Saskatchewan and be safe out on the ice!
