Minnesota fishing guide Joe Scegura gives his latest Buzz Bite Report for the Alexandria Area on June 7th, 2023.

Alexandria Area: 6-7-2023

The fishing remains excellent in the Alexandria Area. Walleye, bass, panfish, and pike are all biting well.

The walleyes have been biting well in areas with new weed growth. On most lakes target depths between twelve and twenty feet of water.

The best bite windows have been early in the morning or late in the evening and throughout the night especially on our clearwater lakes. Anglers can find a few walleyes during the day in current areas and dirtier water.

Leeches and crawlers have been the best baits.

Panfish can be found in shallow reed beds, near emerging lily pads and in weed beds in ten to fifteen feet of water. Bluegills are beginning to nest, while the crappies are just finishing up.

Small jigs paired with plastics or livebait will produce plenty of fish.

Look for bass and northern pike in the emerging weed beds in less than fifteen feet of water. Spinnerbaits, crankbaits, swimbaits, and chatterbaits are all working.

The bite is going to stay good for the next few weeks, so make sure to get out and enjoy it.

Good luck to anyone fishing around Alexandria, MN this week or over the weekend!
