Mack Peters of Slab Seeker Fishing gives his latest Buzz Bite Report on the Lake Superior tributaries on the south shore on April 11th, 2023.

Lake Superior Tributaries: 4-11-2023

The trout fishing on Lake Superior’s south shore tributaries has been tough, but anglers having been finding a few nice brown trout and steelhead. Water temps are in the low forties and steelhead are preparing to spawn.

Fish are being caught on a number of different baits like spawn sacs, beads, yarn flies, nymph patterns and stonefly flies as well.

Target fish in the deeper pools, or along the edge of current breaks in the fast water stretches.

Lake Superior tributaries Catch’em all Callan hoist a nice buck steelhead.

Due to the warm temperatures the rivers are on the rise and will continue to rise over the next week. Unfortunately this is going to make for some tough fishing conditions.

It will probably take a while for the water levels to drop back down again, but once they do the brown trout and steelhead should be biting!

Good luck to all the anglers fishing the Lake Superior tributaries!
