Carrabelle Florida Fishing Buzz Bite Report 2-17-23

The fishing has absolutely been on fire in Carrabelle Florida and all along the Florida panhandle.

Anglers should expect to catch numbers sheepshead on inshore structure. There are still a few sea trout around, but the best bite has been for sheepshead both in the river and on inshore structure.

Anglers should also expect to catch a few bull redfish. We aren’t finding a lot of fish but the ones we are catching have been big. In the last ten days alone I have five redfish over 40 inches.

Sea bass and grunts can be caught in thirty-five to sixty-five feet of water. A few snappers may be mixed in as well. Jigs paired with 4″ Berkley Gulp! Minnow have been working great, but the best presentation by far has been live shrimp on a circle hook with a one or two ounce sinker.

Cut bait and bucktail jigs are two other good options that will catch just about everything that swims.

The weather looks good in the upcoming forecast and the fish should continue to bite good. Good luck to any anglers fishing in or near Carrabelle, Florida!
