Devils Lake Buzz Bite Report 1-12-2023

We’ve got a lot of snow over here in North Dakota so I’d recommend track machines or snowmobiles if you plan on heading out. There are a few anglers driving trucks out, but you are going to be really limited on where you can go.

Overall, the bite has been good out on Devils Lake. If you are able to get away from the crowds, it’s defiantly been worth it.

Anglers are catching good numbers of jumbo perch in Black Tiger Bay, East Bay, out in front of the towers, and out in front of the casino.

Depending on where you are on Devils lake the best depths have been between 20 to 36 feet of water. Small tungsten jigs paired with wax worms or euro larvae have been working well. Dead sticks with small crappie minnows are also producing fish.

The walleye bite has been pretty decent as well. Most action has been during lowlight periods early in the morning and late in the evening.

Target depths between eight to sixteen feet of water. I Fish Pros with fathead minnows and 1/16 ounce or 1/8 ounce rattle spoons have been the best baits. Clam Tikka minos are also catching fish.

Stay safe and good luck to all the anglers out fishing on Devils Lake and across North Dakota!
