Bemidji Area Fishing Buzz Bite Report 12-6-2022

Ice conditions are coming along nicely with the amount of colder nights we have been having up here in the Bemidji Area. Most local lakes have 5”-8”. You need to continue to be careful as we are still early ice.

Crappie and bluegill fishing hasbeen very good in 8’ to 12’ of water with vegetation and reeds nearby. People are starting to hit lakes pretty hard so this bite won’t last much longer. Also vegetation is dying. These shallow water panfish will start getting pushed out to the points and humps near deep basins and flats if not already on the flats and basins.

We have been doing really well on Clam Swirl Dropkicks and the new Pinhead Pro tipped with wax worms. We are finding our bigger fish traveling in packs of 1-3 fish. More of our eater size fish have been coming in the bigger schools.

Fish are biting very good in the morning and evening with even some good midday action!

Stay mobile and move around until you find the fish you are looking for. This time of year they are on the move and can be found in shallow or deep water!

The Bemidji Area fishing is great right now, good luck out there and be safe!
