Northern Minnesota Buzz Bite Report 2-22-2022

We received some snow over the past few days so vehicle travel is going to be tough. The best way to get around right now is with a snowmobile or track machine.

Overall the bite has been good and is getting better by the day. The bigger perch are starting to bite.

The key depths for jumbo perch have been twenty-two to twenty-four feet of water. Small spoons tipped with spikes or minnow heads have been working great.

The walleyes are still biting late in the evening and early in the morning on spoons and deadsticks. The best colors for the spoons have been red and perch.

Fishing deeper for number of walleyes and move shallower if you are looking for bigger fish.

The inland season comes to a close at the end of the month so it’s your last chance to chase walleye, northern pike and largemouth bass in Minnesota! Good luck to those angler fishing in Northern Minnesota and be safe!
