Leech Lake: 8-7-2023
The fishing has been decent up on Leech Lake. Right now schools of walleyes can be found along the sand grass flats in ten to fourteen feet of water. Walleyes can also be found along the edge of the main lake rocks piles.
Slip bobbers with leeches or crawlers, Rapala Jigging Raps, and jigs paired with plastics are producing walleyes.
Muskies are starting to bite. The best bite has been late in the evening or during the night. Bucktails, topwaters, big rubber baits, and crankabits are all moving fish. Will
Look for those fish on main lake structure like points and reefs.
The smallmouth bass bite has been a little tougher. They can be found off the rock reefs in ten to fourteen feet of water.
Drop-shots, tubes, and ned rigs have been the best ways to catch bass.
Bluegills and crappies can be caught along the cabbage weed beds in the evenings. Small jigs paired with plastics have been working great.
