Twin Cities: 8-29-2023
This past week we had a little bit of a cold front and that caused us to really slow down our presentations. Overall the bite was still good, but you defiantly had to fish slower in order to get bit.
Largemouth bass can still be found along the deep weed lines. Depending on the lake they can be anywhere seven to fifteen feet of water. There a few fish still shallow near docks and in dense weed beds.
An All-Terrain Tackle finesse jig caught a ton of fish for us this week, but ned rigs, Neko rigs, chatterbaits, swimbaits, and jig worms will all work.
The panfish continue to be found along the deep weed line and out a ways from the weed line suspended. On most lakes them seem to be in ten to sixteen feet of water. Small jigs paired with plastics will work great. You can also catch them on small Rapala Jigging Raps and other minnow profile baits.
Anglers can expect to catch northern pike along the deep weed lines mixed in with the largemouth bass. Swimbaits, spinnerbaits, and jigs will produce plenty of northerns.
As we continue into late summer/ early fall these same bites should continue to be consistent for at least a few more weeks. Good luck to all anglers fishing the Twin Cities area this week and over the Labor Day weekend!
