It has definitely started to feel like fall in the Twin Cities. We’ve had cooler temps and that has started to cool off our water temps.

Largemouth bass can still be found along the deep weed lines and are biting well.

Depending on the lake they can be anywhere seven to fifteen feet of water. There a few fish still shallow near docks and in dense weed beds. As the water temps begin to cool down look for some of those fish to push shallow into the green weed beds.

Swimbaits, chatterbaits, swim jigs, and other moving baits are really producing numbers of bass right now.

You can also catch fish on finesse baits like ned rigs, Neko rigs, and jig worms.

Bluegills and crappies can be found in the shallow basins anywhere from ten to twenty feet of water. Small Jigging Raps and jigs paired with plastics will catch plenty of panfish.

Northern pike can be caught along the weed lines in five to fifteen feet of water. Swimbaits, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits will produce plenty of pike.

As we continue into late summer / early fall these same bites should continue to only get better. Good luck to all anglers fishing the Twin Cities area this week and over the weekend!
