Minnesota fishing guide Joe Scegura gives his latest Buzz Bite Report for the Alexandria Area on July 13th, 2023.
Alexandria Area: 7-13-2023
The fishing has been good in the Alexandria area lakes. The deep weed lines are established and the fish are in their mid-summer patterns.
We are still catching walleyes around the area lakes on crankbaits, Lindy Rigs, and spinners. Look for walleyes along the deep weed lines or main lake structure in fifteen to thirty feet of water. If you can find baitfish the walleyes are usual close by.
The best times have been early in the morning or late in the evening.
During the day it’s best to focus on other species like panfish, bass, and northern pike.
Bluegills and crappies can be found along the weed lines and are biting small jigs paired with plastics or livebait.
Largemouth bass can be caught on a number of different baits. Spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, plastics, jigs, and topwater baits are all working. Expect to catch northern pike on the same baits.
The bite is going to stay consistent for the next few weeks, so make sure to get out and enjoy it. Good luck to anyone fishing around Alexandria area this week or over the weekend!
