Minnesota guide Matt Johnson of Matt Johnson Outdoors gives his latest Buzz Bite Report for the Twin Cities area on July 10th, 2023.

Twin Cities: 7-10-2023

Overall the bite has been good in the Twin Cities area. Fish are definitely in there summer patterns.

Anglers can find lots of largemouth bass along the deep weed line. That deep weed line could be anywhere from fourteen to twenty feet deep depending on the lake.

There are still a few bigger largemouth bass hanging out around the rocks, but the bite is slowly there than it was last week.

Jig worms, ned rigs, jigs, and drop shots were the best presentations.

Crappies can be caught in the evenings along the weed lines in eight to twelve feet of water. Small jigs paired with plastics have been working great. The Sassy Stingum by Mister Twister was our best producing plastic.

Anglers can expect to run into plenty of pike along the weed line as well. Most fish will be in the seven to fifteen foot depth range. Crankbaits, chatterbaits, jigs, spinnerbaits and swimbaits will catch lots of northern pike.

The fishing should continue to be good for awhile. Good luck to all anglers fishing the Twin Cities area lakes this week and over the weekend!
