Leech Lake Buzz Bite Report 7-13-2022

Right now the water temps are in the mid seventies on Leech Lake. We still have some mayflies hatching, but we are getting near the end of the bug hatches.

The fishing has remained good and anglers can expect to catch a good number of walleyes.

Slip bobbers, Rapala Jigging Raps, and spinners are all working, but I’d say that the slip bobber has been the most productive. Both leeches and nightcrawlers will work on the slip bobber.

Focus on depths between ten to fourteen feet of water in Walker Bay. On the main lake focus on rocks in fourteen to seventeen feet of water.

You can also catch smallmouth bass on top of the rock piles with topwater baits, tubes, and ned rigs.

The musky have started their push shallow and will begin to show up on main lake reefs, rock piles, and shallow weed beds.

Good luck to all the anglers out fishing on Leech Lake this week and weekend!
