Lake Vermilion Buzz Bite Report 7-3-2022
The bugs are hatching up here on Lake Vermilion, but anglers are still able to catch a few fish.
Smallmouth bass are being caught on topwater baits in less than ten feet of water. A few fish are also being caught on ned rigs and tubes near docks.
The walleyes can be found on bottom transitions. Rock to mud, mud to sand, any type of bottom transition is holding walleyes. Target depths between fifteen and twenty-five feet.
Look for bait clouds with your electronics. If you are able to find the bait, the walleyes should be close by.
Spinners with nightcrawler or slip bobbers with leeches have been working for walleyes.
Muskies can be found out in the main basin and on some shallow water structure like sand flats and rocky reefs. Bucktails and big rubber baits seem to be the presentations most anglers are using.
Good luck to all the anglers out on Lake Vermilion!
