Leech Lake Buzz Bite Report 7-7-2022

We are in the middle of the mayfly hatch up here on Leech Lake, but the walleyes are still biting. The water temps are in the mid to low seventies.

Nightcrawlers have really been the ticket during this bug batch. Spinners, Lindy Rigs or night crawlers under a slip bobber have all been working.

Utilize your to find the pods of fish and then circle back and work through them. We’ve only been able to get a few fish out of each school so you’ll want to stay on the move.

Focus on the flats with hard to soft bottom transitions.

The musky fishing is going to get good up on Leech as those fish move out of the deep basins and push towards the shallow rocks and wed beds.

Good luck to all the anglers out fishing up on Leech! Have fun and be safe!
