We have had some beautiful weather over here in Northern Wisconsin over the past week and it looks like its going continue for at least the next week or so.
The water temperates have really stayed the same since my last report. Across the Hayward area and further into Northern Wisconsin water temps have been in the mid to low sixties.
The fishing has been really good and consistent.
For walleyes I have been focusing on stained water lakes and have been focusing in depths between twenty-seven and thirty feet of water near drop-off areas and main lake basins.
Pulling Lindy rigs with sucker minnows has been the best method.
The crappies in the Hayward area and Northern Wisconsin have slid out to about twenty-five feet of water near man lake basins. They are really schooled up and can be caught on small jigs with plastics or with a slip bobber. Small Rapala Jigging Raps will also work.
We have been finding smallmouth bass spread out in eight to twelve feet of water. Rocky points and shorelines tend to be holding more fish than other spots.
Swimbaits will work great this time of year for smallmouth bass. Big swimbaits anywhere from four to six inches paired with a long shank jig is going to be the ticket.
I hope everybody’s able to get out on the water this week catch a bunch of fish and have a great time! If your looking to get out fishing in Northern Wisconsin or the Hayward area you can reach me through my website or cell.
