Devils Lake: 6-26-2023

The fishing on Devils Lake is still good. Anglers are catching lots of walleyes, northern pike, and white bass.

Bobbers and leeches are working great for walleyes right now. Especially on days when the bite is a little tougher.

Swimbaits on jig heads are still catching fish in shallow bays, but you’ll want to move a little ways out from the shore to the first break / the middle of the bays. You should also target the mouths of the bays.

The trolling bite is just beginning to heat up. Troll along flooded road beds and along the old Devils Lake shoreline in twenty-two to twenty-four feet of water. Bottom bouncers with spinners are catching fish but crankbaits will work too.

Don’t be afraid to switch up the colors while you are fishing, although perch and gold always seems to produce fish.

As we continue to transition into July the fish are going to keep moving onto their typical summer areas.

Good luck to all the anglers fishing on Devils or in North Dakota this week and over the weekend!
