Northern Wisconsin Buzz Bite Report 9-7-2021

by

The weather has been pretty rainy and windy over the past week in Northern Wisconsin, but the fishing has continued to be good.

We have been catching a ton of smallmouth bass this week along rocky shorelines and rocky points in eight to twelve feet of water.

Most of the bass we have been catching are puking up crawfish so baits that imitate crawfish have been working the best. Tubes, Ned rigs, Neko Rigs and jigs have been our go to baits. You can catch a few fish on jerk baits as well.

We haven’t spent a ton of time walleye fishing, but during the little time we have fished for them we have found walleyes in thirty feet of water.

That really seemed to be the key depth. Whether it’s close to bottom or suspended out over a forty or fifty foot basin those fish have been thirty feet down.

We caught a few trolling crawler harnesses with snap weights.  If you find a couple schooled up you can vertically jig them with Rapala Jigging Raps, a jig and minnow or a jigging spoon. A slip bobber would also work.

As the water temperatures continue to drop the bite here in Northern Wisconsin will only continue to get better.

I hope everybody’s able to get out on the water this week catch a bunch of fish and have a great time! If your looking to get out fishing in Northern Wisconsin you can reach me through my website or cell.
