We have finally seen those stabilizing water temps on Leech lake that has these fish set up on some more predictable patterns.

We have been finding a decent amount of walleyes Lindy rigging with leeches or crawlers.

Spinners have also been effective for walleyes. The walleyes have really been on the move so you really want to utilize your electronics when searching for these fish on leech lake. Use the side imaging to locate these roaming schools.

There is a lot happening right now. The crawfish are molting and we also have a mayfly hatch happening as well so there is a lot of bait in the water for these fish to eat.

I know some anglers have also been getting walleyes using slip bobbers with leeches. One bite that is going to start picking up is the jigging rap bite. Especially with all the bait in the water a reactionary bait like the Rapala jigging rap can be a great and effective option.

The musky bite hasn’t been great but some anglers are finding success trolling crankbaits or casting bucktails and rubber baits.

Be safe out on the water, enjoy the nice weather, and get out catch some fish on Leech lake!
