Minnesota fishing guide Brian Brosdahl of Bro’s Guide Service gives his latest Lake Winnibigoshish fishing report on October 30th, 2024.
Lake Winnibigoshish Fishing Report: 10-30-24
We’ve had an unbelievably nice fall and that has extended our fishing season. Right now the water temperatures are in the high forties and low fifties on most lakes in the area. We still got a few weeks left to get out and everything is biting right now.
Lake Winnibigoshish Fishing Report: Walleyes
Winnie, Cass, and Leech all have a great walleye bite happening. We are still finding lots of fish up shallow. The key depths have been between eight and eleven feet of water. The best bite has been in the morning while the bite slowly tapering off throughout the day. Look for walleyes on wind blown shorelines and sand flats with scattered rock. Areas with slightly dirtier water have had more aggressive fish. Side imaging will be key to finding the larger schools of walleyes. A jig and a minnow has been hot. There is no need to fish anything else right now.

Lake Winnibigoshish Fishing Report: Panfish
Crappies and bluegills can still be caught on most lakes in the area. Most of the crappies can be found out in the mid-depth basins. Focus on depths between twenty and twenty-five feet of water. These fish are going to be suspended about five feet off the bottom.
Some schools of crappies can still be found along the weed lines. Look for standing, green weed beds. Small jigs have worked great. Hair jigs or small plastics will catch plenty of panfish. Smaller puppet minnows are also effective for those deeper crappies.
