Alexandria Minnesota Fishing Report:6-11-2024
We’ve got lots happening in the Alexandria Minnesota area right now. Water temperatures are rising and the fish are biting. Walleyes have been feeding on a variety of baits and a lot of other species can still be found shallow.
Walleyes: Alexandria Minnesota Fishing Report

Location: A majority of the walleyes that were up in the shallows have moved out deeper. Most fish can be found between twelve and sixteen feet of water. There is a ton of new weed growth coming up with the warmer temps and sunlight and the walleyes are relating to the emerging weed line. Depending on the time of day walleyes can be found on the inside weed edge or on the outside weed edge.
Baits: Walleyes can be caught on a number of different presentations. Lindy rigs, slip bobbers, jigs, and crankbaits are all working. Leeches and crawlers have been the best on the slip bobber and Lindy rigs.
Bass: Alexandria Minnesota Fishing Report
Bass are up spawning in the shallows in less than six feet of water and the fishing has been great. Water temps are in the mid sixties and a majority of the bass are on beds. Anglers can find a few pre-spawn and posts-pawn in the shallows as well. Senkos and other plastics are working great. Spinnerbaits and jigs are also producing a number of bites.

Panfish: Alexandria Minnesota Fishing Report
A majority of the bluegills can be found up shallow. There is a decent amount of spawning activity. Look for open sandy and gravel bottomed areas where fish congregate and make lots of beds. The crappies have wrapped up spawning and can be found on the weed line. Crappies and bluegills are both stacked up in these shallow areas and shouldn’t be too hard to find. Both can be caught on hair jigs, small plastics, or live bait.
