Lake of the Ozarks: 5-10-2023
We recently had an MLF invitational on Lake of the Ozarks and the fishing was great. Water temps were in the mid-sixites and most of the fish could be found up shallow in less than seven feet of water.
There are a decent amount of crappies and bass spawning throughout the lake. Look for beds in depths between two and six feet of water. Most of the fish were spawning around the docks.
Work along the docks while skipping your baits underneath will produce numbers of nice bass.
Both power and finesse presentations worked well.
Anglers can expect to catch bass on jigs, chatterbaits, shallow running crankbaits and finesse plastics. One presentation that produced a to of big fish for me was the Z-man Jack Hammer chatter bait paired with a RaZor shad in a green pumpkin color.
