Devils Lake (ND) Fishing Report – Mitchell’s Guide Service

by

Very good fishing continues throughout the Devils Lake basin as it has all summer. Overall numbers of fish caught may be down a bit compared to when the summer peak was in full swing. However, anglers are reporting that the average size of the walleyes are way up as the photos posted here show.

Some very nice fish were caught this week. Trolling crankbaits on flats continue to produce good limits of eater walleyes and some larger walleye are now showing up. For those who like to jig, a few fish are being caught with jigging raps, jigging spoons and the old reliable jig and minnow combination. As expected, the spinner and bouncer bite has slowed.

Now that we are approaching mid September, there is no other place I would rather be fishing than Devils Lake, North Dakota. Fall fishing at its finest is here and we here at Mitchell’s Guide Service are prepared to show you just how good that bite can be. Whether it is a one, two or three day outing, our experienced group of guides will put you on fish. Lodging and meal packages along with the guided trips are available also with Woodland Resort.

The best fishing of the year is here IMHO. Now would be a great time to book a trip with MGS and find out for yourself just how good fall fishing at Devils Lake can be.
