Last Mountain Lake Fishing Report: 12-26-24

The fishing has only gotten better on Last Mountain Lake in Saskatchewan. Overall the ice conditions are excellent. Most places have thirteen to fourteen inches of ice.

While the ice conditions are good you still need to use caution, because not all places froze over at the same time. Pack a spud bar, throw rope, and always wear a float suit. Remember that no ice is 100% safe.

Last Mountain Lake Fishing Report: Walleyes

The walleye bite has been fantastic on Last Mountain Lake in Southern Saskatchewan. Anglers can expect to catch lots of walleyes throughout the day with the best bite happening during the primetime hours. Lots of big walleyes are being caught as well. It really seems like the big fish have moved in.

Target points, humps, sharp breaks, and reefs. The walleyes seem to be biting most areas. Spoons tipped with minnow heads have been the best producing presentation, but anglers can catch them on set lines and with various other fishing baits like Rapala Jigging Raps. The best colors have been wonderbread, blue, pink, and perch. Anglers can also expect to run into a several northern pike and perch while fishing for walleyes.
