Wisocnsin fishing guide Jeff Evans gives his latest Hayward Wisconsin fishing report on November 4th, 2024.
Hayward Wisconsin Fishing Report: 11-4-24
The open water season is just about finished up here in Northern Wisconsin. The temperatures are dropping and snow is expected in some areas. Most anglers have put their boats away for the year. If you are still hitting the lakes the bite has been pretty good for walleyes, musky and panfish.
Hayward Wisconsin Fishing Report: Walleye
Water temperatures are in the low fifties and a majority of the walleyes can still be found around thirty feet of water on lakes with good water clarity. Most of those fish can be found on main lake structure. Look for walleyes on humps, points, and saddle system out in the middle of the lake. A jig and minnows has been the most productive presentation, but they can also be caught on slip bobbers paired with minnows and the Rapala Slab Rap.
Hayward Wisconsin Fishing Report: Panfish
The crappie fishing has been great in the Hayward Lakes area. We’ve been trying to target most of those fish in twenty-five feet of water or less. Look for them out in the mid-depth basins. The crappie schools show up great on your electronics and are relatively easy to find. Small jigs paired with plastics have worked best. Fish them right over the side of the boat and suspend your bait a foot or two above the crappies. Slip bobbers have also worked well.
Hayward Wisconsin Fishing Report: Musky
The musky bite has picked up in the Hayward Lakes area. Most of the fish are relating close to shore and can be found in less than ten feet of water. Big sucker minnows are producing the most consistent bites right now. Some anglers are having success moving fish on big rubber baits, jerkbaits, and crankbaits.
