Alexandria Minnesota Fishing Report: 6-4-2024
Welcome to our latest fishing report from the Alexandria Minnesota fishing area. This past week has been an exciting one for anglers in the area, with a variety of fish making their way to our boats. From walleye, bass, and panfish the action has been non-stop, and the fish have been more than willing to bite.

Adapting to the Conditions
One of the key lessons this week has been the importance of adaptability. Initially, we found success in shallow waters, pitching jigs to walleyes in just 4-8 feet of water. However, as weather conditions changed with a front moving in, these fish disappeared from the shallows, prompting us to make a quick adjustment.
Moving Deeper
We moved out to deeper waters, around 22 feet, and there we found the walleyes again. This quick shift in strategy turned what could have been a disappointing day into a successful outing. It’s a testament to the unpredictable nature of fishing and the need to be flexible to the conditions.
Consistency in Deeper Waters
The following day, we continued to fish in 22 feet of water, replicating our success from the previous day. This consistency in deeper waters highlights the importance of not only finding where the fish are but also understanding their behavior under different conditions.
Exploring the Shallows

A Variety of Species
While the walleye were deeper, other species were thriving in shallower regions. Sunfish, crappie, and bass were all found in waters ranging from 4 to 12 feet deep. By simply cruising along the edge of the weeds, we encountered groups of these fish, all preparing for the spawn.
Panfishing Alexandria Minnesota
If the walleye aren’t biting, or if you’re looking for a change of pace, the panfish in Alexandria are an excellent option. They have been growing in size and numbers, making them an increasingly attractive target for both novice and experienced anglers alike.
Alexandria Minnesota Fishing Report Conclusion

The ability to adapt to changing conditions and explore different depths can make the difference between an empty cooler or a bountiful catch.
