Saskatchewan Fishing Buzz Bite Report 1-16-2023

We’ve got plenty of ice and the walleyes are still biting across all of Saskatchewan and right now. Most of our lakes have around 24 inches of ice.

We are finding some really nice jumbo perch and big walleyes in a lot of the central and southern lakes in the province.

Rapala Jigging Raps,  Rapala Rippin Raps, and spoons have been the best baits for walleyes and perch. Focus on main lake humps and points in fifteen to twenty-eight feet of water.

Anglers should expect to catch northern pike and ciscos along with the walleyes.

They is also a good northern pike bite in some of the shallow weedy bays in less than ten feet of water. Set lines are producing a majority of those fish.

In the northern part of the province lake trout can be caught on big tubes and spoons.

Right now is a great time to plan a trip to enjoy some of the incredible Saskatchewan fishing. Good luck to all the anglers fishing!
