They spent summer vacations fishing with their grandparents and cousins in central Wisconsin; Carin wrote this book based on her childhood memories fishing with her family after trying and failing to find books about girls fishing for her young nieces. She hopes to inspire girls of all ages to fish and have fun outdoors.
