Oahe Wings and Walleyes

Oahe Wings and Walleyes Cast and Blast

by

Here we are in December joining Chad and Shonda Schilling, owners of Oahe Wings and Walleyes, on a cast and blast mission. We started off on a pheasant hunt and ended with some lake Oahe walleyes.

Chad and Shonda have been running the lodge for the last 18 years right in Selby, South Dakota.

Just this last year they added the Prairie Pillow Sportsman’s lodge into their equation offering another great option for customers. Another nice thing is that everything is within 5 miles. If you want to pheasant hunt during the mornings and then walleye fish in the evenings it is all within a few miles.

This area is known for its legendary numbers of pheasants and lake Oahe is full of stocky 17-18 inch walleyes with the chance at a real nice fish.

A lot of the walleyes we caught ice fishing came on tip-ups or on Northland’s Buckshot spoon. These fish were really aggressive  and wanted a decent sized bait. We had multiple doubles and even a triple. These walleyes in Lake Oahe travel in large schools and it is a fast action fishery.

If you are looking for a great cast and blast location, run by some great people, give Oahe Wings and Walleyes a call!
