Caleb Wistad gives his Northern Wisconsin Buzz Bite Report on January 15th, 2021. The inland walleye bite has been hit or miss but when the fish are on anglers have been getting some nice fish. Look for those primetime feeding windows for walleye. Crappies and other panfish can be caught in the remaining green weeds or in the deep basins.

Lake Superior continues to kick out decent numbers of splake, brown trout, and whitefish.

My name is Caleb Wistad and I primarily fish in the Northern Wisconsin, both on the open water and the ice, including the great lakes, Mississippi river, inland lakes, streams, small rivers, and reservoirs.  I target nearly 30 different species of the bounty of fish that Wisconsin has to offer throughout the year.

I am committed to finding new and unique ways to effectively target specific, and multi-species, bites and bringing them to you on several platforms so you can use those methods as well.  Whether it’s jigging up lake trout through the ice over 100′ of crystal clear Lake Superior water, casting swimbaits for walleyes on a natural lake, or fly fishing for stream trout in a tiny spring creek, we are going to get hooked up!
