Northern Minnesota Buzz Bite Report 5-2-2022

The ice is slowly beginning to break away along the shoreline of the bigger lakes around the Leech, Cass, and Winnie area. The smaller lakes are beginning to open up and any lakes or rivers that have a lot of current areas are also mostly ice free.

With that being said our extended forecast looks good with some warmer temperatures in the near future predicted and things are looking promising for the Walleye opener.

The Rainy river is high, but anglers are still catching a few sturgeon throughout the day with some really big fish being caught. Make sure to pack lots of heavy flat no-roll sinkers.
