Metro Area Fishing Buzz Bite Report 8-29-2022

Things are changing across the metro area and it won’t be long before the fish make their transition into their fall patterns. Right now water temps are in the mid to low seventies depending on the lake.

The weather has defiantly effected the bite for largemouth bass. Overall the fish were negative and the key to getting bit was to slow down the presentation.

A majority of our fish were caught on a ned rig that was barely crawling along the bottom. It seemed like the slower we moved it, the more bass we caught. We tossed jigs, crankbaits, and other presentations, but it just seemed like those bass wanted the slowly presented ned rig.

We found bass along main lake rock piles and deep weed structure. Anglers should expect for those fish to stay there for the next few weeks, but as the water temps begin the drop those fall patterns are going to kick in!

Good luck fishing in the Metro Area lakes!
