Metro Area Buzz Bite Report 7-12-2022

It’s mid July and it finally feels like summer down here in the Metro. This past 4th of July weekend the boat ramps and lakes were very busy.

We’ve had some rapidly increasing water temperatures on our area lakes. Surface temps are in the low eighties. With all that being said the fishing has been really good.

Largemouth bass can be found along the deep weed lines anywhere from twelve to twenty-two feet of water.

The depth is going to depend on the lake you are fishing, but if you work along the deep weed line you are going to catch fish. Jig worms and ned rigs continue to be the go to presentation. We have also mixing up our plastics a bit and still finding good results.

One key to getting bite has been to slow down the retrieve. The slower you work your bait, the more bites you will get.

Th panfish have started to school up and can be caught on small jigs paired with plastics. Utilize your electronics to find the schools panfish along the deep weed lines.

Good luck to all the anglers fishing in the Metro Area!
