Duluth Area / Twin Ports Buzz Bite Report 2-9-22

The fishing has been solid all across the Duluth area from inland lakes, to the St. Louis river and over on Chequamegon Bay on Lake Superior.

We have been finding walleyes on the deeper transitional drop-offs. We have been seeing a nice mixed sized of fish with a few big ones. Our best baits have been the Northland Coffin spoon, Bro Bug spoon, and the Glo Shot fire belly spoon in either a gold or wonderbread color.

Setlines are producing a few fish as well.

Chequamegon Bay has been busy, but the bite has been pretty good. Anglers can expect to catch splake, whitefish and brown trout around twenty five feet of water. Anglers who have pushed out deeper towards the islands are catching lake trout and whitefish.

On the inland lakes we are still catching panfish along the weedlines, but a good number of fish can be found in the basins as well.

Small jigs paired with a wax worm or plastic are the ticket.

Good luck and tight lines to all the anglers out on the ice!
